Richmond Champ SHow 2022
Judge Howard Ogden
Here we are 5 years on! Sometimes you need someone ‘from the
dark side’ to observe the progress being made and the huge co-operation from
some ‘big’ names in entrusting your very best stock to others
to campaign, grateful to my stewards who kept us all in order! 40 exhibits
with 12 away.
MPD 3(1)
1. Langford’s Quaytown Damson. 6½ months, very typy gold, skull
falling away beneath eyes, correct length of muzzle, well placed eye, good
shape and angles, level good tail, set and carriage, sound moving in a
jaunty manner, appreciate I now see had travelled from the IOW, very
promising.
2. Killian’s Marbledale Treat N Toffee. 7 months on the
day, gold/white, good in head, excellent body shape, level, good tail
carriage, first time out so was a little wayward but handler worked well and
they are going to develop into a good team.
PD 3(0) Excellent trio.
1. Hall’s Shenedene Gossip Agent. 10 months gold, so very
typical, fabulous head both in its detail and proportions, great shape and
angles so as to be well balanced; level, good tail carriage and promise of a
good coat, very sound, just a matter of him maturing on so to realise his
obvious potential.
2. Horne’s Chanceinn’s Bad Habits. 9 months, black and
white, quite lovely for type and balance, in a superior coat that was
immaculately conditioned, good in eye and ear, touch longer in muzzle and
underjaw as yet, such a good body structure with the firmest of fronts,
being straight on the outside and with good bone, good in rib, just that
touch long but that’s merely a matter of maturity, moved securely with
style.
3. Revillas Rodriguez’s Crystal Eye’s Wam Bam Boom at Khumbila.
JD 2(0)
1. Clutterbuck’s Kutani Hamilton. 12½ months, good eye, excellent
muzzle, excellent neck well arced, nicely formed front, correct body length
for height, level, good tail set and carriage, quality coat, moved out well,
one to watch.
2. Gillman’s Aintshe Permission To Fly from Mytilene. 15
months b/w of a slightly heavier build but with a good overall structure,
handsome head with correct fall away, quite a marked crook, level, good tail
set and carriage, steady mover and well balanced.
YD 3(1)
1. Torrance’s Sinyul Imagined. 20 months b/w of considerable
promise, excellent type and shape, relatively narrow skull, fall away,
correct length of muzzle, frontally placed eye, well bodied and angulated,
level, balanced and compact high tail set carried well over the back, well
coated and furnished, moved out well with a typically jaunty style.
2. Anderson’s Zentarr Hendricks. 18 months gold on his
first time out, scored in muzzle, scored in well arched neck, scored in
shape and tail set, simply a bit wayward as his handler generously
acknowledged whilst trying to keep up, better days to come.
ND 4(0)
1. Gillman’s Aintshe Permission To Fly from Mytilene. Repeat.
2. Horne’s Chanceinn’s Bad Habits. Repeat.
3. Killian’s Marbledale Treat N Toffee.
PGD 3(1)
1. Adam-Slomkowski’s Kentwone Derek Jewel by Skylax. 20 months described as
sable, good honest type, well put together, just still to mature on and to
coat up, excellent head and eye with muzzle of correct length through to
black nose and correct bite, straight front, level, good in rib, still to
fill in loin, well placed and carried tail, jaunty, well presented and
handled.
2. Wright’s Kelankin Bits ’n Bobs. 2½ years gold, heavier headed and bodied
with a rather marked crook, but well ribbed extending well back, level,
strong loin, well developed and muscled rear, well coated.
LD 4(1)
1. Anderson’s Zentarr Albert. 4½ years, sire of the ‘wayward’
kennel mate, gold, fabulous head, falling away behind eyes, with good
furnishings, pendant ears, arch to neck, correct body length, ribbed back
with strong loin, quality coat, well developed rear with parallel hocks and
not the least ‘wayward’ on the move, CC standard.
2. Sutcliffe’s Newcliffe Kia Ora JW. 4 years, rather short
in muzzle and was ‘falling away’ over the rear, well bodied with the most
quality of coats, touch longer in loin, good angulation and body
proportions, sturdy and assertive.
OD 5(0) A ‘hot’ class indeed.
1. Connett’s Ch. Khinjan Valentino with Orcavoe. 3 years
gold, my notes read ‘amazing’ and there is little else that needs saying, in
top form and condition, heavily coated with good fall over eyes, correct
fall away, excellent eye and ear, excellent proportions all over, correct
chest with pro sternum, arched neck, level, so well angulated, so muscled
under all that glamour, straight front, firm at elbow with forward facing
cat feet, ribbed back, short loin, high set tail carried well over the back,
moved with sound style and parallel hocks, class handling technique so as to
ensure it is the exhibit that is centre stage, DCC, BOB and Group 2.
2. Barnett/Carter’s Belazieth Sundance Kid with Alamiks JW.
4½ years gold/white and was so close up that I now see was to be expected as
half brother, super headed, super structure, well angulated, level, so well
ribbed back to a strong loin, superbly coated and conditioned, moved so well
with great tail carriage and parallel hocks, we are talking standard of
excellence in seeking to make a decision between exhibits of this calibre
with such skilled self-effacing handlers, so clearly of Ch quality as marked
with RDCC.
3. Hall’s Ch. Shenedene Secret Agent.
SBD 4(0)
1. Adam-Slomkowski’s Kentwone Derek Jewel by Skylax. Repeat.
2. Killian’s Marbledale Treat N Toffee. Repeat.
3. Wright’s Kelankin Bits ’n Bobs.
MPB 7(4)
1. Lock’s Littondale Lyrabelle. 8 months, cream/white, truly
exciting prospect, outstanding breed type, lovely head, already secure in
structure as was confirmed on the move, so much winning ahead.
2. Birkett’s Littondale Estelle. 8 months, cream/sable
litter sister, less sure of what was expected of her but that’s only a
matter of experience, also very good head features and proportions, also
very good in structure, of a heavier build than her sibling.
3. Saunders’ Montrabella Share The Wish.
PB 2(1)
1. Anderson’s Sweet Devotion VD Pacific Paradise at Zentarr. 9
months, what a prospect, such a pretty head with lovely eyes that draw you
in, great shape and conformation, ideal size and balance, level, well
angulated, well ribbed, correct length, promise of an excellent coat, such a
madam in her gay and assertive manner as demonstrated on the move where she
was so secure, rather a bright future, duly marked by BPIB.
YB 1(0)
1. Barnett/Carter’s Alamiks Perfect Illusion. 14 months, gold
daughter of RDCC, excels in head and eye with fall away behind, straight
front, ribbed back, level, so secure on the move where she is clearly
demonstrating her sire’s attributes, good tail carriage, obviously she is
but a teenager and has still to mature on, not least in loin, no problem in
predicting her challenging for the top awards.
NB 3(0)
1. Barnett/Carter’s Alamiks Perfect Illusion. Repeat.
2. Baxter’s Fengolas Honey Monster. 2½ years, henceforth
known as ‘wagger’ and what a joy to meet as she never stopped from ground or
up on the table or to be placed, very typical, so feminine in head, level,
balanced, well angulated and well bodied so as to be worthy of a few more
outings on this showing.
3. Saunders’ Montrabella Share The Wish.
LB 4(1)
1. Chambers’ Kutani Enigma. Rising 3 years ‘cream with a grey
overlay’ and also shown in SBB but not after today, glorious half sister to
both the DCC and RDCC so hardly surprising she took my eye the moment she
entered the ring, good head with correct eye and muzzle, well arched neck,
excellent forehand as balanced by rear angulation, such a sound structure,
level, ribbed back, great tail carriage and was so proud as though to show
to the world her qualities with her jauntiness off parallel hocks, but it
was all of you that showed our hobby in its best light with a universal
cheer and ring invasion with hugs and tears, here’s to her title, RBCC,
BSpB.
2. Lock’s Khinjan Gabriella at Littondale. Rising 3 years,
oh no, not another half sister, frankly had all the same specific breed
points and was so close up, so anticipate she will be swopping positions as
she too challenges for the top spot with her type and shape and angles,
beautifully bodied and conditioned.
3. Church’s Sengemo’s Starlight Express at Askja (imp SWE).
OB 6(0)
1. Horne’s Lippylou’s Doolally with Chanceinn JW ShCEx OSW.
4½ years black, exuding breed type and quality with the advantage of great
conditioning and maturity, relatively narrow skull with fall away behind,
eyes that she did her ‘aloof’ act as to whether to look at me or ignore me,
excellent shape, excellent conformation, correct length, the more I asked of
her, the more she gave right through to her excellent tail carriage and
jaunty action, believe she has been on a bit of a roll to her title,
congratulations, BCC.
2. Langford’s Quaytown Daffidil. 5½ years cream, yet
another Kutani sired, just to be ‘picky’ she was that bit taller set and
quite short enough in muzzle but so very typy and scored so highly in her
conformation that she was a joy to go ‘hands on’ so that you flowed over
her, well arched neck, level, ribbed back, well angulated, immaculate coat,
excellent carriage, well able to state her own case at this level.
3. Hall’s Ir Ch/Uk Ch. Shenedene Gossip Girl.
SBB 4(2)
1. Chambers’ Kutani Enigma. Repeat.
2. Birkett’s Littondale Estelle. Repeat.
