Midland Lhasa Apso Association Open Show 9/4/2022
Thank you to the committee for the opportunity to judge my first club show. A
massive thank you to my excellent stewards, Melanie and Lesley, and thank you to
the exhibitors for their entries.
Minor Puppy Dog
1st:
Clutterbuck & Cain’s Kutani Hamilton. 8 months old, black. Liked his balance.
Liked his head. Lovely dark eye. Lovely expression. Nice front. Good length of
rib. Lovely shape. In good body for a youngster. Well presented and moved well
round the ring.
2nd:
Blake’s Jahneemahs Sunstone at Gallerio. 8 months old, gold. Close up to 1. Good
head, dark eye. Well ribbed back. In lovely condition. Moved well round the
ring. Just preferred the shape of 1.
3rd:
Roberts’ Domensa’s Positively Perfect at Marbledale.
Puppy Dog
1st,
BPD, BPIS: Hall-Yates & Considine’s Gallerio I’ll Take You Dancing for Denzka.
11 months old, Gold & white. This boy did not take my eye initially, but was
lovely to go over on the table. Good head, with dark eye and good chin. Straight
front. Good length of rib and strong loin. Lovely shape. Moved round the ring
with ease.
2nd:
Hazelhurst’s Corrolls Easy Rider. Cream. Nice head, lovely dark eye. Nice mouth.
Good length of rib. Beautiful coat. Very well presented. Moved out well.
Preferred the topline of 1.
3rd:
Barnett & Carter’s Corrolls Pimp My Ride among Alamiks.
Junior Dog The first three in
this class were all stunning.
1st,
BD, RBIS: Walker’s Petwalk He’s A Cracker. 17 months old, cream. Beautiful head.
Lovely dark eyes, good mouth and melting expression. Straight front, good length
of rib, and strong loin. Well angulated rear. Level topline that was held at all
time. In coat of good texture. Moved round the ring with ease. Wouldn’t change a
thing about him.
2nd:
Anderson’s Zentarr Renegade. 14 months old, cream. Lovely dark eye. Good length
of neck, well ribbed back and in excellent condition. Beautiful coat. Very well
presented. Stunning profile. Moved well round the ring. Just preferred the head
of 1.
3rd:
Torrance’s Sinyul Imagined.
Yearling Dog
1st:
Ogden’s Absosengkye Re Light My Fire. Gold. Nice head. Dark eye. Decent bite.
Neat elbows. Good length of rib. Strong loin. Nice shape. In coat of good
texture. Moved very well holding his topline at all times.
2nd:
Slomkowski’s Kentwone Derek by Skylax. Res in a very good junior dog class.
Gold. Lovely head and eye. Straight front and shoulders well laid back. A well
put together dog but a little out of coat. Moved well.
3rd:
Downe’s Montrabella Prince.
Maiden Dog
1st:
Robert’s Domensa Positively Perfect at Marbledale. 3rd in minor puppy. Gold.
Loved his head and expression. Dark pigmentation. Good body. Could carry his
tail a little higher to complete the picture. Beautiful mover.
2nd:
Walker’s Petwalk In Your Dreams. Res in minor puppy. A larger made boy with a
lot to like. Still quite raw. Nice head and eye. Good length of rib. He was
little anxious today on the table but moved well.
Novice Dog
1st:
Torrance’s Sinyul Imagined. 3rd in the junior dog class. Black & White.
Excellent pigmentation. Nice head. Well laid back shoulders. Good bone. Well
presented. A beautiful shape and moved with real purpose.
2nd:
Blake’s Janeemahs Sunstone at Gallerio. 2nd in minor
puppy dog.
3rd:
Robert’s Domensa Positively Perfect at Marbledale.
Post Graduate Dog
1st:
Connett & Clutterbuck’s Kutani Daredevil. Gold. Lovely head and melting
expression. Nice mouth. Straight front. Good spring of rib, strong loin. Well
muscled up. Beautifully presented. Flows round the ring.
2nd:
Hall’s Shenedene World Trader. Gold & white. Liked this boy a lot. Lovely head,
and expression. Gorgeous shape. Moved very well. Would just like a little more
body.
3rd:
Lightfoot’s Dardanelles Prime Suspect for Telshotbriar.
Limit Dog
1st:
Hemsley’s Taemarus Neverending Story. Brown & white. Lovely dark eye. Good
layback of shoulders. Good length of rib. Excellent tailset. In excellent coat
but I would like a little more texture. Moved very well..
2nd:
Luscott’s Taemarus Digby at Jalus. Gold. Beautiful coat of good texture.
Excellent pigment. Well ribbed back. In good body. Gave his handler a hard time.
Moved well. Would like tighter elbows.
3rd:
Hayes’ Archirondel Nasa at Saksfifth.
Open Dog
1st,
RBD: Saunders’ Ch Bellellen Double Ducie. Brindle. Nice head with a lovely
expression. Dark pigment. Straight front. Well ribbed back. Lovely tail set and
carriage. Beautiful shape. In lovely coat with good texture. Moved well round
the ring. Pushed hard for BD.
2nd:
Hall’s: Shenedene Secret Agent. Gold. Absolutely gorgeous. Loved his head, eye
and expression. Straight front. Strong topline. Shorter coupled than 1 but still
a lovely shape. Moved with ease. Would like him to use his neck a little more
when stacked.
3rd:
Baker’s Zanamop Hot Gossip.
Veteran Dog
1st:
Lock’s Ch Littondale Replay Kutani. 8 y.o gold. Beautiful boy in gorgeous coat.
Loved his head and expression. Good layback of shoulder. Good length of rib.
Moved freely round the ring.
2nd:
Holland’s Deelayne El Conquistador. 7 y.o dark gold. Another very well made boy.
Liked his head and eye. Straight front and good shoulders. Well muscled and
shown in excellent condition. A little unsettled today on the move and making
his handler work.
Minor Puppy Bitch
1st,
BPB: Poole’s Domensa Perfect Timing. Gold, 7 months old. Beautiful shape.
Stunning little girl. Loved her head and pigment. Beautiful expression. In good
body for her age. Presented beautiful. Moved round the ring with ease.
2nd:
O’Docherty’s Lhotse One In The Force. Black, 7 months old. Much of the same
comments can be made. Lovely head. Melting expression. Darkest of pigment,
excellent length of rib, moved out well. Just preferred the shape of 1.
3rd:
Schuckardt’s Kutani Black Opal at Frenchlands.
Puppy Bitch
1st:
Hemsley’s Jalus Alaysha at Taemarus. Gold brindle, 10 months old. Won this class
on maturity. Nice head and eye. Well bodied up. Neat elbows. Moved well.
2nd:
Barnett & Carter’s Alamiks Perfect Illusion. Gold, 11 months old. Lots to like.
Lovely head. Neat elbows. Well ribbed up. A little nervous on the table but
moved really well. Preferred the tail carriage of 1.
3rd:
Blake’s Gallerio Shake It Off.
1st:
Huntley’s Wrenwrox Loretta Renascent. Grey brindle, 15 months old. Liked her
size. Lovely head and eye. Well ribbed back. Beautifully balanced. Good coat.
Moved well in the class but unfortunately not as well in the bitch challenge.
2nd:
Hazelhurst’s Corroll’s Too Hot to Handle. A lovely cream puppy, 11 months old. Beautiful
head and expression. Lovely front. Longer cast than 1. Strong topline. Moved
well. Unfortunately she decided to give her handler a hard time in the puppy
challenge.
3rd:
Slomkowski’s Cococabana Lhamco-Loco at Skylax (imp Pol).
Yearling Bitch
1st:
Luscott’s Taemarus Jocelyn to Jalus. Stood alone but thoroughly deserved this
class. Gold. A beautiful bitch. Nice head and expression. Straight front. Well
ribbed back. Tight elbows. Moved beautifully. Made a picture when stacked.
Really liked her. Considered her in the challenge.
Novice Bitch
1st:
Slomkowski’s Cococabana Lhamco-Loco at Skylax (imp Pol). 3rd in
Junior. Cream. Dark eye, good tailset. Between coats at the moment. Would like a
better bite to give a more arrogant expression.
Post Graduate Bitch
1st:
Gregson’s Kutani Maleficent. Gold. Lovely to go over. Lovely head and
expression. Excellent pigment. Good layback of shoulder, good length of rib and
a strong topline. Moved well. Would prefer a higher tail carriage. Presented
perfectly. Moved well.
2nd:
Chesterfield’s Burnsett Lunata. Gold. Lovely expression. Just suffering a little
from winter nose. Good layback of shoulder. Good length of rib. Overall a nicely
made girl. Made a beautiful shape stacked.
3rd:
Schuckardt’s Elmichapel Walk In My Shoes at Frenchlands.
Limit Bitch
1st:
White & Carter’s Bobellam’s Bubbling Over. Black & white. Excellent head and
mouth. Beautiful expression. Excellent pigmentation. Straight front, good length
of rib. Well muscled up. Lovely tail set. A lovely shape and an easy mover.
Beautiful.
2nd:
Saunders’ Montrabella Limit Edition for Bellellen. Gold. A bit heavier made than
1. Nice head with good mouth and chin. Straight front and strong topline. In
very good coat. Moved well.
3rd:
Roberts’ Domensa Glint of Glory with Marbledale.
Open Bitch A beautiful class of apsos. Very close between
the top 3.
1st,

with dark pigmentation. Straight front. Strong neck with excellent layback of
shoulders. Beautiful shape. Presented perfectly. Moved round the ring with ease.
2nd:
Pearce & Francis’ Longsdale’s Baby Your Crazy. Gold bitch. Loved the head and
expression on this girl. Excellent pigmentation. Good mouth. Well ribbed back. A
picture when moving. Just lacking the maturity in body of 1.
3rd:
Culverhouse’s Ch Culverapso Queen of Hearts JW.
Veteran Bitch
1st,
BB, BIS, BVIS: Hall’s Ch Shenedene Miss World. 8 y.o gold. Lovely head with an
arrogant expression. Good pigment. Straight front. Excellent lay back of
shoulders. Good length of rib and strong loin. Well angulated rear end. In
amazing coat and condition. Beautiful mover. Absolutely loved her. Could not
deny her the top award.
